Welcome back to beautiful Baltimore! I am very happy to report that Bowers and Merena and Ponterio & Associates have brought more than 5,700 exceptional U.S. and World coin and currency lots that will cross the auction block this week.
We will present six sessions over Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and I invite you to join us in the Charles Street VIP Suite for live auction excitement.
We kick things off tonight at 6 p.m. with U.S. Session One, presenting 991 lots of Copper through Seated Dollars and everything in between. The spotlight is on Lot 737, the “King of Barber Coinage” – the rare and eagerly sought 1901-S Quarter. This is a beautiful, original PCGS MS-68, the single highest-graded 1901-S Barber Quarter known to PCGS– don’t miss it!
Also impressive is Lot 605, a High-Condition Census 1798/7 JR-1 Draped Bust Dime, Rarity-3, 16 Stars, in certified NGC MS-65. NGC Census (JR-1 designated only) is just 6, with a mere three finer in MS-66. A lovely Gem that belongs in the finest numismatic cabinet.
We’re just getting started! Remember to visit the Bowers and Merena lot viewing area located on the bourse floor at Table 1400. And if you are ready to consign to our June Official Baltimore Auction, please stop by Table 1204 to speak to a consignment director.
