Boy Scouts Earn Merit Badges in Baltimore

Under the direction of Young Numismatist Director Patti Jagger Finner, several Boy Scouts earned their merit badges in Coin Collecting at the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo this week.

Working diligently in the Kid's Corner area of the Bourse, the Scouts learned the rudiments of coin collecting--just one of two merit badges built around collecting.

Since 1937 the Boy Scouts of America have included coin collecting among the merit badges, which are designed to impart skills in a given subject matter. Ms. Finner has conducted dozens of workshops for scouts and other young numismatists. She also holds the position of Vice President of the American Numismatic Association.

It's all just one more way Whitman Expos are working to ensure the future of the hobby.
