Q. David Bowers: Hobby's Future Is Bright

The greatest numismatist of our generation believes the future of coin and currency collecting looks bright. Speaking to a packed room on the subject of his long history with the American Numismatic Association, Q. David Bowers said he believes the hobby will continue to grow.

“The hobby is going to become larger and better,” Mr. Bowers said.

Bowers, who had to seek special permission when, as a mere teenager, he wanted to have his own bourse table at the ANA Convention in1955, described his long and storied history with the organization. Mr. Bowers served as President of the ANA from 1983-1985 and has won numerous awards from the group. His presentation, “The ANA and Me” traced that history and included a virtual tour of the ANA Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
