Donald Scarinci

Donald Scarinci is an attorney, author, and nationally recognized numismatist whose collecting interests span ancient, medieval, world, and United States coinage. He is internationally regarded as a leading authority on contemporary art medals and has assembled one of the largest private collections of medallic art in the United States. A Fellow of the American Numismatic Society, Scarinci has written and lectured extensively on medallic art and coin design. In 2021, he became the first recipient of the Fédération Internationale de la Médaille d’Art (FIDEM) Award recognizing collectors of contemporary art medals. Since 2005, Scarinci has served on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC), having been appointed by the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and reappointed continuously for more than two decades. He is the Committee’s longest-serving member and also serves as a nominating judge for the international Coin of the Year Awards.
