Arthur L Friedberg

Art Friedberg is a leading authority in numismatics and a lifelong contributor to the study of coins and paper money. A graduate of The George Washington University with an M.B.A. from New York University, he joined his family firm, Coin & Currency Institute, in the 1970s and continues to own and operate the company today. Friedberg is coauthor of several cornerstone references, including Gold Coins of the World and Paper Money of the United States, and has overseen updates to classic Yeoman titles. His accolades include the International Association of Professional Numismatists’ Prix d’Honneur, the American Numismatic Association Medal of Merit and Heath Literary Award, and the Swiss Vrenelli Prize for outstanding contributions to numismatics. A longtime columnist for Coin World, frequent contributor to The Numismatist, past IAPN president, and a consultant to organizations ranging from the United Nations to the U.S. Senate, he remains an active author, contributor, and trusted resource for Whitman Brands.
