Uncirculated complete P, D, & S quarter set of the pioneering American Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray, which includes the very very scarce "S" mint quarter.  The coins will arrive in a 2x6 plastic holder.  This set includes three coins.

Anna Pauline "Pauli" Murray was an American civil rights activist, advocate, legal scholar and theorist, author and an Episcopal priest, ultimately influencing the civil rights movement and expanded legal protection for gender equality. She was an exceptional student and strong willed, befriending such literary giants as Langston Huges, James Baldwin, and W.E.B. DuBois, and went on to become a prolific writer and poet. She became involved in the labor movement and other causes benefiting women, blacks, and the working class, was hired by the NAACP, and went on to become the first African-American to earn a JSD from Yale. Her final law-school paper, which argued that segregation violated the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments, was used by Thurgood Marshall and his colleagues as they argued Brown v. Board of Education. She co-founded National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1966 and was appointed by President John F. Kennedy to the Committee on Civil and Political Rights and worked with many civil-rights organizations and leaders in the 1960s. In 1977 she became the first black woman in the country to be ordained an Episcopal priest, deciding she would best serve justice not through the law but through her Christian faith, and was ultimately sainted by the church.
